Safety Lab ✓ Done

Complete safety training for your grade — shop and tools, fire, electrics, rigging, sound, and costumes. Pass the quiz with a perfect score to earn the safety certificate you turn in to your teacher.

I can work safely in every area of the theatre and prove it with a perfect safety quiz.
Open lab

Vocab Lab ✓ Done

Learn the language of the theatre, one discipline at a time. Read the word lists, drill flash cards and practice quizzes, then prove it on the quiz — all matched to your grade level.

I can use the vocabulary of each theatre discipline correctly.
Open lab

Theater Spaces Lab ✓ Done

Fly through a 3D proscenium theater and a flexible black box. Explore thrust, arena, and alleyway stages, learn the names of the parts, then label each space from a word bank.

I can identify the parts of a theater and explain how the stage and audience fit together.

Mood Board Lab ✓ Done

Collect the look of a show on an edgeless whiteboard. Drop in images from your computer, then crop, scale, rotate, flip, and color-treat them, add text labels, and arrange it all into a mood board. Download it as an image, save the board file to keep editing later, or share a code so classmates see your board live on their own screens. Build a palette from your pictures, and finish with a Guided Project: a mood board for a scene brief plus a 5-question skills check.

I can gather images and text into a mood board that communicates a design idea.
Open lab

Headset & Radio Lab ✓ Done

Learn to talk on comm. Seven lessons on headsets and channels, the standby–go cue sequence, walkie protocol and the “Go for ___” answer LA crews expect, ten-codes and why we mostly don’t, and the safety calls that stop the room. Then take the scenario quiz: you get the situation, you pick the call.

I can use the right headset and radio call for the situation in front of me.

Scenic Construction Lab ✓ Done

Learn to build flats, platforms, and set pieces the right way. Work through guided lessons, test your knowledge with a build quiz, and sharpen your tape-measure skills with fractional-inch drills.

I can measure with a tape, lay out lumber to scale, and build a cut list for a flat or platform.
Open lab

Drafting Lab ✓ Done

Practice drawing technical theatre drafting to scale on virtual 11" × 17" grid paper with snap-to-grid and editable dimensions, the same workflow you'd use in industry software. Then pass 10 of 12 Draft This challenges.

I can draft a scaled drawing whose dimensions match the plan.
Open lab

Live Sound Lab ✓ Done

Trace a sound system from microphone to speaker and learn why every connection matters. Practice signal flow, setting levels, and building a live stage mix from the ground up.

I can trace the signal path from microphone to speaker and set safe levels.
Open lab

Sound Cue Lab ✓ Done

Build a whole show's soundscape on a QLab-style cue stack. Pull effects from the library or drop in your own audio, set fades, loops, and follow cues, then hit GO to run the show live. Export a standalone file that plays back offline on any computer.

I can build a cue stack with fades and follows, then run it live with GO.
Open lab

Line Mixing Lab ✓ Done

Ride the DCAs like a live A1. Each character sits on a key from Z to M; as lines fall down the highway, open the right performer in time and hold for the whole line. Practice a scene, or take the 5-minute scored quiz — handle 80% of the lines to earn a certificate.

I can open the right performer's channel exactly while they speak — and only then.
Open lab

Costume Design Lab ✓ Done

Build costume plots for an entire cast. Choose garments, accessories, and hairstyles from a stylized wardrobe, then label each look by character name and scene, just like a real costume breakdown.

I can design a costume that fits the character, the time period, and the scene.
Open lab

Pattern Lab ✓ Done

Turn body measurements into a real, made-to-measure sewing pattern. Pick from the full FreeSewing catalog, enter your measurements, fine-tune the fit, then print the pattern at true size on a 36" roll or tape-together Letter pages.

I can take body measurements and draft a made-to-measure pattern I can cut and sew.
Open lab

Scenic Design Lab ✓ Done

Place set pieces, furniture, and actors on a ground plan, then watch your design appear live in a perspective view from the audience. Stage areas are labeled so you always know where everything sits on stage.

I can stage a scene with clear focus and keep every actor visible to the audience.
Open lab

3D Printing Lab ✓ Done

Slice STL models locally on a Chromebook with a student-friendly workflow. Choose the lab printer, material, quality, infill, and supports, then export checked G-code without uploading the model.

I can prepare a model with safe basic settings and export it for a supervised test print.
Open lab

Lighting Design Lab ✓ Done

Paint the stage with light: choose colors, textures (gobos), and angles to craft a look. Record cues and run a full light show, using a cue stack that works like a real ETC EOS console.

I can build a lighting look with color and angle, record it as a cue, and run the show.
Open lab

Studio Lighting Lab ✓ Done

Set up studio lighting rigs for film and photography. Position lights, choose modifiers and colored gels, and see how your choices affect the image, then print a shareable shot plan.

I can light a subject for camera and explain what job each light is doing.
Open lab

Portrait Lighting Lab ✓ Done

Experiment with professional portrait lighting: position key, fill, back, and hair lights around a subject and see the result update in real time. Try built-in presets, save your own setups, and export side-by-side comparisons.

I can name the four portrait lights — key, fill, back, hair — and place each one.
Open lab

Photocraft ✓ Done

Photo editing

Edit photos the way the industry does: layers, masks, adjustments, type and real PSD files, in a full editor that runs in your browser. Export your image and submit it to your teacher. Needs a Chromebook or laptop.

I can edit an image with layers and adjustments and export it for print or the web.
Open lab

Lightcraft ✓ Done

Photo developing

Develop photos like a photographer: import your shots, then set exposure, white balance, curves and color, crop, and compare before and after. Export the finished photo and submit it. Your photo library stays in this browser. Needs a Chromebook or laptop.

I can develop a photo for exposure and color and explain each adjustment I made.

Course Articulation

Not open yet. Signing in is turned off while we fix how the form checks who you are; your teacher will say when it reopens. The walkthrough still works, so you can see what it will ask: which courses you have already taken, the Design & Production courses you are placed into, then the supplemental, CCAP and specialty academic classes you rank.

I can ask for the classes I want next year, and my teacher has an accurate record of what I have already taken.
